Born in the City of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape,South Africa, Ntsika Dulwana is a self-taught artist using the medium of charcoal and pastel and acrylic on paper in the practice and development of his trade. His pieces see him venturing into spiritual avenues that are often not expressed, yet live to tell tales of his aspirations to raise people to meaningful levels of spiritual consciousness, drawing inspiration from existence within and around him. His work's detachment from obvious representation of concepts into something far more abstract through the use of various shapes and textures, opens up a wider scope for conversation. The first glance however, does not immediately make that connection, the connection requires a more intent focus and experience of his art. Through this process, the symbolism becomes apparent and the story falls into place. Ntsika Dulwana's work can be found at The August House Studios, Studio 208, 76 End Street, Johannesburg, South Africa.
