About the Artist:
Teppo Valkama studied arts both in Finland and Norway. He has had many solo and collective exhibitions.
He started with black/white photographs and acrylic paintings. Nowadays, most of his expressive works are photoshopped photos printed on canvas. Traveling is an essential inspiration, incredibly long trips in colorful India.
Teppo Valkama translates his visuals into contemporary art forms in the setting of an old house or a wall with unusual camera angles, sustained close-ups, and darkness or shadows. He sees ruins as significant and aesthetically essential structures in their own right and argues against reconstructions that might scrub away the charms of buildings fallen into abandonment and decay.
