  Tips for working with oil paints

  Hi everyone, I’m wondering if anyone has any tips for working with oil paints. I’m fairly new to painting and I’m struggling a bit with the drying time and blending.

  Oil paints can definitely be a challenge at first. One tip I have is to try using a medium or solvent to help thin out the paint and increase drying time. There are also specific drying agents you can add to the paint to speed up the drying process.

  Consider creating an underpainting in a single color (such as grayscale or a complementary color) to establish values and composition before adding color layers on top.
