I think that’s why it’s so important for artists to have the freedom to create the work that they feel is important or meaningful, without worrying too much about whether it will be “popular” or “commercially successful.” Sometimes the most important art is the kind that challenges us or makes us uncomfortable.
So it sounds like we all agree that art can be valuable in many different ways and that it’s important to support artists and encourage them to create work that’s both meaningful and well-crafted.
I definitely think that art has an important role to play in society. For one thing, it can be a powerful tool for social commentary and critique. When artists create work that tackles issues like inequality, oppression, or environmental degradation, they can inspire people to think more deeply about those issues and take action to address them.
